October 2011: our volunteers have now completed the task, with the consent of English Heritage, of clearing one of the gun racers on the terreplein. This has been a long and arduous task involving the removal of many tons of accumulated earth but when finished, will enable visitors on tours to have a better idea of how the fort once looked and operated. Pictured below are the 3 photos: before, during and the finished item!
